Youth booked for raping girl, circulating MMS

A man has been accused of sexually harassing a teenaged girl and making a MMS of her photos in compromising position. The man also circulated the MMS in Ner Pinglai village under the jurisdiction of the Shirkhed police station on Saturday.


Police said one Amol Wankhade (22), hailing from Ner Pinglai village, works as a wireman in MSEDCL in Dhamangaon. The victim said in her complaint to the police that she was acquainted with the accused since few months. She claimed that the accused proposed marriage with her to try and lure her into a sexual relationship. However, the girl claims to have rejected the sexual advances and ignored him.


Enraged with the refusal, the accused allegedly threatened the girl of dire consequence and demanded sexual favours. He threatened to kill the girl's parents and used to take her to a vacant hospital in the village and rape her there. This had been going on for the last two months.


Meanwhile, the accused had also shot an MMS of the girl in a compromising position and allegedly made it public in the village. The then girl then finally lodged a complaint with Shirkhed police station on Saturday.


Shirkhed police have registered cases against the accused for allegedly raping and threatening the girl under relevant sections of IPC. Accused Amol Wankhade is absconding.


SDPO Vinod Shirbhate said, "We are investigating whether the accused has distributed obscene clippings in the village. If the accused is found guilty of distributing clippings, we will registered cases against him under the IT Act too."
