Disqualified/Blacklisted consulting comapanies in US

H-1B season is here again! Starting April 1, the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) started accepting H-1B visa applications for the fiscal year 2011-12.

However, with H-1B visa professiobnals increasingly being blamed for job losses in the US, the visa has become a sensitive with political contours. Last few years, have seen several attempts to restrict the number and use of H-1B visas through legislations. The year 2010 also saw a steep hike in visa fees, a 'discriminatory' move which puts additional financial burden on Indian IT companies.

The stringent rules also resulted in many companies getting disqualified. In legal terms, a company faces debarment over what is seen as an H-1B abuse under US laws.
